Sausalito Construction, Inc., est. 2001, is a custom home builder and remodeler with projects throughout the Bay Area with a focus in Marin, Napa and Sonoma Counties. With a long history of exceptional residential and commercial construction projects completed both locally, as well as in the surrounding area, we are very familiar with the construction process. Making the building process comfortable and enjoyable for our clients is of great importance to us. Meeting with the local building departments, communicating with local inspectors, and fulfilling all requirements to ensure a smooth and successful process throughout the life of each project, are just a few of our many areas of expertise. Our old-world craftsmanship and business etiquette meet extraordinarily with the most current technology of the modern day.

We are managed by two partners, Gale Greisen and Don Scheiner. Gale and Don have been working together for over 20 years. Gale has been a contractor in the new construction/remodel industry for an excess of 45 years, obtaining his contractor’s license in 1978. Don, a fourth-generation builder in Marin County, brings over 40 years of custom building and remodeling experience to the company.   

We have approximately 45 full-time employees with offices and warehouse facilities in San Rafael. Sausalito Construction has much of its own equipment, including skid steer loaders, dump trucks, excavators, and scaffolding, to help produce a more cost-effective project. Our experienced employees enable us to provide the right personnel at the right cost. 

We are fully bonded and carry more than adequate coverage in general liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance.  We are also more than willing to make the owners additionally insured on the general liability policy.
